Jade Nouvelle Orleans is the very first absinthe from Jade Liqueurs. Unlike Ted’s other creations, Nouvelle Orleans is not a replica of varieties from the mythical Belle Epoque, but rather a tribute to his former hometown, New Orleans in Louisiana. A city that at the turn of the 18th and 20th centuries was a decadent hub for cults and art in the South. A city that still today has a reputation for serving absinthe to the discerning bar-goer. It’s not for nothing that the restaurant “The Old Absinthe House” is actually still open at the same address as over 100 years ago.
Jade Nouvelle Orleans is a modern absinthe with a crisp and fun, floral profile, beautifully flirting with its historical predecessors, without being a copy. A classic absinthe, but one that dances along Bourbon Street. It was with this absinthe that Ted Breaux really showed that he knows what he is doing. And the rest is history, as they say. We love this one, because it’s classic but not. High quality as usual, and above all – there’s nothing like it.
