It is made from guignes, an ancient variety of wild sour cherries harvested in the region, and brings out the fruit\u2019s full richness. The cherries are macerated whole, with the pits left in, to impart delicate almond notes. A flavorful and balanced liqueur, where the sweetness of the cherry harmonizes with a slightly tart note, resulting in a smooth, refined taste.   <\/p>\n<h2>How do you drink Guignolet?<\/h2>\n<p>Drink it the French way! As an aperitif or digestif\u2014with or without ice. Add a little sparkling water, and it becomes incredibly refreshing. But\u2014it\u2019s fantastic in cocktails and absolutely perfect as a summery Spritz   <\/p>\n<h2>What cocktails can you make with Guignolet d&#8217;Anjou?<\/h2>\n<p>Guignolet really shines as a spritz. Mixed with prosecco and soda water, it makes for a perfectly sweet cherry spritz with real character. As for straight cocktails, we\u2019d recommend the Coup de Roulis, or Combier\u2019s own Anjou V\u00e9lo Vintage.  <\/p>\n<h2>Fun fact&#8230;<\/h2>\n<p>Since 1890, the Combier distillery has held the original recipe for this classic Loire delicacy, which was created in 1632 by Mother Madeleine Gautron, abbess of the Couvent de la Fid\u00e9lit\u00e9 in Saumur.
